Follow-Up and Accidents

Following up on my last post, Edamerica has again bumped the disbursment date to Sept. 4. This is getting so ridiculous that even the director of our fianacial aid department emailed us, telling us this date. Even he sounded skeptical! Now, generally, I'm a kind person. Sept. 4 is the last straw. If I don't have money by Sept. 4, I'm changing lenders. Up yours, Edamerica!

Do you know that this is making local news? I didn't. Not until last night, anway.

Anyhow, on a much more positive note: my friends and family are so helpful right now. My mother deposited $50 into my account (money she's owes me, but I know she could really use) just because she thought it could help. I mentioned my fiance helping me with groceries, well, he's also getting me the ink I need now. And then, last night, I got a telephone call from my Dad telling me that I didn't have to worry about paying him back and that, if he could help, he would. I also mentioned my timesharing two books with two of my friends. Well, one of them had previously offered to loan me the cash for my books. I don't want to accept not knowing when I could pay her back. But, guys, all of you, I LOVE YOU SO MUCH! All of you, even a few I haven't mentioned, because I know they would help if they could.

Now on a less positive note, but slightly funny one: My dad had an accident at work. My mom called and tell me about it. He lost two of his fingertips and they've got him at home for 4-6 weeks and drugged up. Now, nothing about that is funny, don't misunderstand me. I cried when I first heard about it. What the funny part is is that right before my mom told me exactly what his accident entailed (i.e. the lost fingertips), she said, and I quote, "He's all right. He's fine." Fine? Fine in my book does not constitute the lost of two fingertips, Mom! But I guess it could have been worse, so I'm just glad he's alive.

Well, that's it for now. I'm off to write. Channel my fury and relief into much needed prose and poetry! Tootles!

Of Chaucer and Student Loans...

Little introductory note I missed: I'm engaged....I know, it's bad I forgot to mention it. But I think the reason is that I've been engaged for years now, dating him for longer, and he is just so much a part of my daily life that I assume most people who know me know that. And most who will actually read this blog do.

Anyway, on to what I'm actually blogging about. Today was a bad day. Not horrible. Could have been worse. But definitely not good. Of course, school has been, generally, a mixture of good and bad. My classes and teachers this semester--thankfully--have fallen into the good category. However, I do have to translate Middle English to read my Chaucer homework. Makes my head want to explode, but is also kinda fun. Linguists turned my brain to mush, but when I step back, I really get what's going on. Teachers for both those classes are great! Creative writing is so much fun and so challenging (in a great way)! I started working on my history minor, and it's great. I feel a little old in my US History I class. Sometimes, I get a little lost in some of my classes. Now let me move onto the bad and tell you why...

Edamerica, the lender I get my student loan through, keeps bumping further away the disbursment of money to my school. They say that they are having trouble getting it to the school. First it was the 7th of August. Then the 15th. Then the 28th (tomorrow). But when I emailed Edamerica, they said mid to late September. This won't do. All in all I have to have like 9-10 books. I have 2. I'm time-sharing--thanks to my two glorious friends--2 more of them. Difficulty? Yes. Am I pissed? Like you wouldn't believe.

Thanks to the delay of the loan, I have to use my fiance's help to get groceries. I can't afford a $10 black ink refill that I desperately need for Creative writing. It all just sucks. Well, that was my bitch fit. I'm gone.

Meet Me!!

An introductory post. My name is PatriciaLouise. A boring screenname, I know. But it's easier for me to remember. Let me tell you a bit about myself, and this thing I live in called the Trishverse!

I am 22, a little over 5 feet tall, and tend to get very squeaky when I'm really excited or really angry. I am a child of the past, present, and the future. I love history--it's my minor, actually. I love 80s music. I attend the local Renaissance Faire every year. I love to relive old, funny stories. Yet, I know how to work a computer. I know what a good majority of the recent slang of today means. I love to write. I enbrace many genres of fiction, my favorites being horror, fantasy, sci-fi, fantasy, and romance (when it is properly mixed with another genre).

Ever see the TV show Friends? Yeah, well, I'm Monica. I'm organized. Unbelievably so. Let me put it this way: I love holidays, and I have a purple binder devoted to anything and everything related to my holiday plans.

As for my boring screenname, be glad. I'm known elsewhere as Patricia de Lioncourt, PatriciaSnape, and PatriciaTepes. I live in my own little world known as the Trishverse. In the Trishverse, villains run rampant. The Joker, Darth Vader, Negaduck, Count Dracula, and many others. But fear not, visitors to the Trishverse! These psychos are securely trapped inside a large glass maze so that I may examine them. I intend to use my findings to create a great villain one day!!

So, dare to enter? This bit of rambling is only the beginning...

Moving...'Nuff Said

So, I've created a blog. Always wanted to. However, I'm currently in the middle of unpacking my stuff in my dorm. I'll be back to introduce the Trishverse later. Ciao!
